DriveCam system unveiled

As part of our ongoing commitment to occupant safety, beginning in the summer of 2002, all new limousines entering service with O’Hare-Midway will be equipped with DriveCam video recording systems.

The DriveCam system features a palm-sized, front facing video camera that attaches to the windshield directly behind the rear-view mirror to avoid intrusion into the chauffeur’s field of vision. When triggered by unsafe driving, DriveCam automatically records everything the chauffeur sees and hears in the 20 seconds before, during, & after the “event”. Events are stored in the unit’s digital memory, along with the level of G-forces on the vehicle, and are regularly reviewed by the fleet safety director.

O’Hare-Midway Limousine Service has long been a leader in the industry when it comes to occupant safety. The DriveCam system is virtually the “eyes and ears” of our service when it comes to on-the-road performance of our chauffeurs, and will enable us to take corrective action when warranted.
